Vodenitzata or ‘The Watermill’ as that translates to is probably one of the best Bulgarian restaurants that you can take a visitor to.

First of all, the drive into the mountains is amazing and for a first time visitor to Sofia, it’s definitely something special. Secondly, the restaurant not only serves traditional Bulgarian cuisine, it also provides you with a wonderful authentic atmosphere and some very interesting entertainment!

We took some guests from England who were impressed with the great selection of food, wine and Rakia. It was also nice to see the Bulgarian dancers and the ‘walking on hot coals’ show that took place outside after we’d finished eating.

The food and entertainment was all so good that we got carried away and didn’t take many photos! Next time!

What we love about it:

  • Perfect to take visitors
  • Great entertainment
