My second night in Sunny Beach was spent at the Sun Village Apartments. I wanted to not only try a hotel but also see what the apartments in the area were like. Renting an apartment is perfect when you’re travelling either with family or a group of friends.
Sun Village have one and two bedroom apartments which are very reasonably priced so these are a great option if you’re on a budget but still looking for something central and of course, nice!
It’s a complex of apartments which are in fact privately owned however the bookings for holiday makers are managed by a private company so you feel exactly as you would if you booked in a hotel apartment complex. When you arrive there is a tiny little reception office where you will collect your key, however if there is no-one inside you can just pop into the restaurant where someone will help you. Sun Village is still quite central but not located on the beach. You do however have a very large swimming pool which is perfect if you want to spend your days relaxing and doing little else! It’s also quite peaceful here as it’s a few streets away from the main party part of town!
What I really like about this place is that you can rent 1 or 2 bedroom apartments which are fully equipped. If you’re on a budget and want to share a place with a couple of friends this will be great. The 2 bedroom apartment has 2 double rooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room and kitchen area. There’s also a nice size balcony with a table and chairs so you can enjoy having the occasional meal in the comfort of your own holiday home. You can opt to pay extra for breakfast in the small restaurant located in the complex however with a fully equipped kitchen and full size fridge it’s not a bad idea to stock up on supplies from the nearby supermarket and cook up a nice breakfast to enjoy on your balcony overlooking the pool.
The apartments are managed like a hotel so you will have your room cleaned daily and towels changed daily too (if you leave them on the floor). Although, I don’t know about you but I don’t change my towels daily at home so I think this is only necessary every couple of days.
There is also free parking available if you need it however it’s not guaranteed. It wasn’t full when we were there but the parking attendant did tell us that if we move the car and there’s no space when we return then we would need to find somewhere outside to park. I don’t think this would be a huge problem as there seemed to be plenty of places nearby where we could leave the car.
Lastly, there isn’t free wifi here so you will need to pay if you want to use their wifi, however, depending on what type of holiday you’re after this may not be a bad thing. What better excuse is there to ignore your emails than having no internet access for a few days!
All in all I’d say that Sun Village is excellent value for money and you should definitely consider staying here on your next visit to Sunny beach.
