After spending a weekend at the Park Inn by Radisson in Sofia I have to share with you just how beautiful this hotel is!
Nina and I have been planning to have a girly spa weekend for so long but with both of us being busy it’s been so difficult to arrange. Finally we decided that to make it happen we’d stay in Sofia. We wanted a nice peaceful hotel where we could enjoy the spa and some coffees and wine and generally have some quiet time! And, we have discovered the perfect hotel for this … Park Inn by Radisson: but don’t tell too many people, it’s our secret 🙂
The Park Inn is in the Lozenets area of Sofia, which means you’re close enough to jump in a cab and go to the centre (for around 5 leva) but you’re also far enough away from all the noise! When you walk into the hotel lobby you will instantly feel the relaxed atmosphere. It’s very spacious, yet at the same time comfortable and cosy. The reception staff are incredibly efficient and friendly and you immediately feel welcome in this hotel.
The room itself was perfect. Whether you’re in Sofia on business, or travelling for pleasure, you will be very satisfied with the desk, work space, good wifi and comfortable bed! Also, much to my delight there was a shower AND a nice big bath tub, something that I love and rarely find in city hotels. There’s nice soap and fluffy towels in the bathroom and, when we realised at 1am that we had forgotten to take toothpaste, we just had to make one call to reception and there was a toothpaste instantly delivered to the door (almost as if they waited outside for us to call!)
On arrival, Nina and I were given robes and slippers for the spa which offers a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, solarium and massages. There’s also a good size gym which is really well equipped.
After the spa and dinner the perfect way to end the night was with a drink in the lobby. There’s a nice bar and a quiet area with sofas where you can catch up on some work or simply relax. Again, I have to mention how wonderfully peaceful the Park Inn hotel is – it’s the perfect place to escape. The rooms are equally quiet, you can open the window to take advantage of the fresh clean air without hearing any noise at all (there is a large in-city forest right next to it!)
Now, moving onto one of my favourite parts of a hotel stay – the breakfast! I love hotel breakfasts, especially when they offer full English, something which I never have time to prepare for myself at home! At the Park Inn by Radisson, they know how to make a good breakfast – that’s for sure! It’s a buffet with a lot of choice, including all kinds of eggs, cheese, breads, fruits and, not forgetting, real bacon – that’s something else you don’t often find in Sofia!
The restaurant looks onto the beautiful garden area which, in the spring will be a lovely place to enjoy a coffee (the coffee is great here too). I think we’ll be going back there whenever we need a quiet place to work or read!
When it was time to checkout we were quite sad to say goodbye! We live in Sofia but we really felt like we’d had a weekend away from the city! If you want to have a relaxing break but would like the convenience of being just a short taxi ride from the centre of Sofia, then we highly recommend the Park Inn by Radisson.
Things we liked:
- The peace and quiet
- The cosy and comfortable lobby
- Great coffee
- All the staff were friendly and efficient and spoke perfect English
- The spa and gym
- Amazing breakfast
- Really reliable wifi (even in the room)
- Only 5 leva (2.5 EUR) taxi ride to the centre of Sofia.
Things to improve:
- I was thinking that there would have to be something to mention here because nothing can be perfect but we really couldn’t find fault with anything! It was in fact, perfect!
