I recently wrote about Mehana Orehcheto and shortly after I found another wonderful traditional Bulgarian restaurant in the area!
Mehana Doiran is about 5kms from the centre of Sofia and is a perfect restaurant to spend an evening with friends. It’s very spacious and the tables easily seat 5 or 6 people. There’s also a nice garden area for outdoor seating.
The food served is truly traditional and if you want to try authentic Bulgarian dishes I highly recommend the tripe soup with bread and the kebabs.
It’s not expensive at all but if you go at lunch time you can enjoy even lower prices when ordering from the lunch menu. Last time we were there for lunch we paid 15 leva for two people and we ate so much!
If you are looking for a nice traditional place to take visitors in Sofia then I would definitely suggest Mehana Doiran.
