I often say that it is hard for me to notice some bars or clubs, and it’s usually true, except for the Dada Cultural Bar. Some friends came to visit me in Sofia and we were walking in the center, close to Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, when I decided to change my usual “touristic route”. That’s when I saw a purple bus parked on a small street, with an open rooftop, umbrellas and people having drinks. I have never been to a bus bar before in my life, so I just had to try this one out. Unfortunately it’s inappropriate to start the cocktail hour at 10 AM, so I had to wait for a better opportunity and ended up going there couple days later with a friend.

What we love about it:

  • The Bus! It is a real bus, like the ones in any big city giving the “hop on hop off” tours. Only instead of bus seats it has some tables and chairs upstairs.
  • Nice drinks (everything we ordered was tasty!)
  • English speaking staff
  • A possibility to go inside in case the weather suddenly gets bad (the bus is parked just outside the actual Dada Cultural Bar)

What they can improve:

  • At 11 PM we were asked to leave the bus and to go inside the bar, as the bus was closing. Since we were going to leave anyway, we told the guy that we’ll just finish our drinks and go, but apparently we didn’t seem trustworthy enough, because he just stayed not far from our table and kept on watching us until we left.
  • A transparent bathroom door! It’s not completely transparent, but you can still see whether the person in the restroom is sitting down, standing up or reaching for toilet paper. It isn’t as scary as it sounds, but it is pretty strange. On the other hand – we all sometimes wonder while waiting for our turn, if the person in the restroom is being slow on purpose. Well, in Dada Culture Club you don’t have to wonder, you can just watch the bathroom door and know exactly what’s going on!
