Beso Bar & Dinner

Whenever I describe Beso Bar & Dinner to someone, the first thing I always say is that this place is really, really cool. There is an air of class about it when you walk in. Just picture the scene, most of the women will be quite glamorous, dressed up in skinny jeans and high heels with large sunglasses and maybe even a teeny tiny dog in their handbag. The guys will mostly be wearing tight t-shirts and, on occasion, will also bring along their designer doggy, which makes them quite popular with the ladies! Now, I personally don’t have a tiny dog, nor do I like posing when I go out for dinner; however I do love spending an evening in the garden at Beso. The music is nice, the garden area has plenty of space and the food is good, all in all, the atmosphere is perfect. I often order the sushi which is lovely and there are also tasty desserts, most recently I ordered the rice with milk (rice pudding) and the chocolate brownies, they were both delicious! There’s also a good variety on the lunch ‘specials’ menu which usually includes soups, chicken with potatoes, rice with mushrooms or grilled fish. A favourite of mine is the spinach with eggs and cheese! I also discovered that it’s one of the few places in this part of town where I can order an English breakfast! Before you get too excited though, there aren’t English sausages included, but they do serve good fried eggs, bacon and toast and very nice coffee, including iced coffees. In the winter, the garden area is closed but there’s plenty of seating space inside and there’s also TV screens which are often showing the football etc.

Service is good in general but can be a little slow when it’s busy, if you’re not in a hurry then it’s no problem but if you have to be somewhere then you may want to tell them in advance. I’ve never had a problem finding a table although there are some spaces reserved when it’s busy so if you’re taking a large group you may want to call ahead. Oh and one last thing, when you go to the toilets and close the cubicle doors there’s full size pictures of a topless fit man looking at you… interesting!
