Irish Pub Quiz at McCarthy’s in Sofia

Last night we held a pub quiz at the most iconic Irish bar in town, McCarthy’s. The quiz was organised to raise money for the Irish stall at the International Women’s Club Christmas Charity Bazaar.

Each team paid 50 leva to take part in the quiz and some great raffle prizes were also on offer, including a bottle of Jameson Whiskey donated by Jameson, two bottles of Beaujolais wine donated by First Estates, a bottle of MOET Champagne and Glenfiddich Whiskey donated by Philip Welsh of Vistra Corporate Services and a restaurant voucher donated by Mehana Doiran.

It was a huge success with some very competitive teams all aiming for the top spot and the first place prize which was a 200BGN voucher for MWAH, one of the coolest wine bar / restaurants in Sofia!

After six rounds of tough questions the winning team was announced, The Vikings took first place with The Substitutes coming in a close second ……

At the end of the night the donations were counted and we had raised a fantastic 695 leva! This money will be used to buy supplies for the Irish stall at the IWC charity bazaar which is taking place on the 4th December 2016. We hope to turn the money raised last night into several thousand leva by baking lots of delicious Irish food and serving our famous Irish Coffee amongst other things!

If you’d like to help us by making a donation, please get in touch. Maybe you can bake us a nice Apple Pie or some Irish Bread? Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.

And don’t forget you can buy your tickets to the IWC bazaar online here to beat the queues on the day!

See you on the 4th December at the Inter Expo Centre. We will be waiting for you there with lots of tasty food and of course, Guinness, Jameson whiskey and Irish Coffee!
