Dragalevsti Monastery

Dragalevtsi Monastery

Dragalevtsi monastery was founded in the 14th Century and is located on Mount Vitosha, not far from the centre of Sofia in the Dragalevtsi area. It can be easily reached by car, or, if you’re feeling fit, on foot from the centre of Dragalevtsi. The walk will take you around 30-40 minutes and is just over 3kms. If the weather is nice, the walk will be a lovely way to enjoy the beautiful nature and surroundings on your way to the monastery.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. As much as I love to write, I think that the photos I took of Dragalevtsi Monastery in Sofia will give you a much better explanation of how beautiful and peaceful this place is. I’ll just leave you with one piece of information that I thought was interesting. Vasil Levski spent a lot of time at Dragalevtsi Monastery as he used it as a safe place for making his revolutionary plans …
